Our pools are available for lap swimming, aqua group fitness classes and swimming lessons. All aquatic areas are patrolled by qualified lifeguards.

We have a variety of pools and wellness facilities where you can learn to swim, cool off on a hot day, or just enjoy the fitness benefits of regular swimming. We also have a giant floating obstacle course called WIBIT.

Children under 10 must be supervised by a parent, and children younger than five require a parent within arm’s reach. All parents, guardians and carers must comply with our Watch Around Water policy.

WIBIT

WIBIT is our giant floating inflatable obstacle course made up of different modules for balancing, climbing, jumping and sliding.

Children must be at least six years of age and competent swimmers as the session takes place in two metre deep water. A parent or guardian may be required to accompany children onto WIBIT depending on the child's ability / mobility, at the discretion of the supervisor. 

Sessions commence on the hour and are one-hour in duration, which includes pre-session briefing. Please see our conditions of use and Watch Around Water policy below.

    Booking conditions

    • Bookings open two weeks before the class start time (to the minute).
    • Cancellations made no later than 24 hours before your booking will result in a product return being added to your online customer account.

    Session information

    • Please arrive at the front desk 15 minutes before your session starts to allow time for check-in, life jacket fitting, and to be directed to the WIBIT.
    • Please arrive ready to swim in bathers.
    • The session is 60 minutes and commences on the hour. Lifeguards will provide instructions when it is time to exit the pool, prepare to exit the centre and collect your belongings. Patrons must depart the pool prior to the next hour commencing.
    • Life-jackets are essential and are provided.
    • Minimum age: six years
    • Six and seven years olds may require a supporting parent / guardian to accompany them on WIBIT.

    Safety

    • WIBIT sessions are a held in minimum depth of two metres. The patron is responsible for ensuring they are confident of their swimming ability in a deep-water environment.
    • Vulnerable and elderly people with chronic health conditions should speak to their doctor about what is appropriate for them. Please speak to a lifeguard before entering the water if:
      • you are over the age of 55;
      • you have a pre-exiting medical condition (including disability); or
      • you are a inexperienced or non-swimmer.
    • Under 10 year olds must be actively supervised by a parent/guardian at all times. See the full Watch Around Water policy on this page which includes parent to children ratios for entering the centre.
    • Lifejackets are for WIBIT use only.
    • Prescription goggles only.
    • Listen and follow Lifeguard instructions.
    • Once off inflatable please swim to the edge of pool.
    • No pushing or rough play.
    • No swimming under the inflatable.
    • Wait for the path to be clear before exiting.
    • No diving or flips.
    • No running.

    YMCA Victoria is a Watch Around Water endorsed aquatic safety organisation. Watch Around Water is a set of industry guidelines that outline the minimum supervision requirements of young children at aquatic venues.

    We have followed the Watch Around Policy (outlined below) in our centre since 1 September 2019.

    Children under five years old

    • All children must be accompanied into the centre by a person over the age of 17 and be supervised within arms’ reach at all times in the water.
    • All children must wear a pink wristband supplied by YMCA staff to help identify their age while swimming.
    • Children will not be admitted without a full fee paying parent/guardian who must also be in the water at all times.
    • Groups will not be admitted entry where the number of parents/guardians supervising a group of children under five years exceeds the ratio of 1:2.

    Children under 10 years old

    • All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied into the centre by a person over the age of 17.
    • All children must be actively supervised by an adult over the age of 18 at all times. The adult must have a clear and active view of the child with no physical or structural barriers between them (this includes tech and devices
    • such as mobile phones).
    • All children must wear a yellow wristband supplied by YMCA staff to help identify their age while swimming.
    • Groups will not be admitted entry where the number of parents/guardians supervising a group of children under 10 years exceeds the ratio of 1:4.

    Birthday parties

    • All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied into the centre by a person over the age of 17 and handed over to the supervision of the birthday party leader (staff member).
    • All birthday party participants must wear a blue wristband and an age-based wristband (pink or yellow) to identify their participation in a party.
    • The adult guardian of the birthday party child must remain accessible and actively supervise the group at all times.
    • At the conclusion of the birthday party, children will remain in the supervision of the birthday party leader and supervising parent until physically handed over to their supervising parent/guardian.
