    Why do I have to show my vaccination status to enter a Council facility?
    This is a State Government directive to allow Council to reopen our facilities to our community.
    I don’t know how to link my COVID-19 digital certificate with the Services Victoria App, can you help?

    What about my children?
    Once the 80% vaccination target is reached, all children aged 16 and over will need to be show their vaccination status. However, it is not yet mandated for children under the age of 16.
    Can I accompany my child to swimming lessons or sporting activities if I’m not fully vaccinated?
    From 6:00pm on Friday 29 October, you will be required to be fully vaccinated or have a medical exemption to attend activities at all Council owned or managed facilities.
    Are council staff fully vaccinated?
    In line with Victorian Government directions, council staff are fully vaccinated.

    I don’t have a mobile phone, how I can I show my vaccination status and check in?
    You can show your vaccination status in one of the following ways:

    • Printed copy of COVID-19 digital certificate or immunisation history statement 
    • Australian Immunisation Register certificate 
    • Medical certificate or a letter from an authorised medical practitioner
    Do I need to show my vaccination status every time I visit a council facility, or just the first time?
    You will be required to show your vaccination status each time you visit a council facility, as we will not keep any record of your vaccination status.
    What happens if I decline the request to provide my vaccination status?
    You will be politely asked to leave the council facility.

  • COVID-19 vaccinations

    All facilities will comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements as directed by their government authority. The Y will provide staff opportunity to attend vaccination appointments and access vaccination information. 

  • Training for staff

    All staff have completed the Department of Health COVID-safe training, as well as additional training provided by YMCA Victoria to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge to keep you safe. We have also provided additional training for specific roles to ensure all programs operate safely with venue density requirements in place.

  • Increased hygiene and cleaning

    You will notice that hand sanitiser is available throughout the centre with the expectation that everyone (staff and visitors) regularly sanitises their hands.

    The entire centre is cleaned regularly and staff will also be wiping down gym equipment regularly and antibacterial wipes will be available for visitors to use before and after using equipment.
